Mel Tan
CEO

  • Mel has over 20 years of experience in the sale and provision of services in respect of test and measurement equipment, over 5 years of experience in setting up manufacturing facilities, and over 15 years of international sales and marketing experience.

    Amongst Mel’s key accomplishments is the setting up of headquarters in Singapore and developing sales and support teams in regional sales offices covering Southeast Asia, India, South Korea and the Middle East. Mel also formed strategic alliances with key technology partners in order to be able to provide one-stop solutions to customers.

Serene Kee
CIO

  • From 2006 – 2012, and prior to joining ETS Solutions Asia, Serene was an Assistant Vice President at a major Singapore Bank. Her responsibilities included client relationship development and management with a focus on high-net-worth individuals. Serene was managing an equity and bonds portfolio in excess of US$150 million. Serene also worked at other financial institutions in a client relationship development role.

Ajay Rajpal

    Post qualification, Mr. Rajpal held a number of finance-related roles which involved working in the US, Europe, Middle East and Far East. Since 2011, Mr. Rajpal has run his own consultancy business, NAS Corporate Services Ltd, providing companies with various corporate services, such as assistance with their pre-IPO funding, the IPO process and post IPO management. Mr. Rajpal has project managed the initial public offering process and assisted with the associated funding of two businesses on AIM, namely New Trend Lifestyle Group Plc, which provides Feng Shui products and services across Asia, and Zibao Metals Recycling Group Plc, a Hong Kong and China based metals recycling company. He was a non-executive director for Phimedix Plc (formerly named Zibao Metals

CORPORATE GOVERNANCE CODE

ASCENDTECH PLC complies with the Quoted Companies Alliance Corporate Governance Code provisions for small, and mid-size quoted companies (“QCA Code”) to the extent that the Board considers appropriate having regard to the Company’s size, board structure, stage of development, and resources.

The Company departs from the provisions of the QCA Code in respect of the number of independent directors. The QCA Code says that “Generally, shareholder expectation is that at least half of directors of a board will be independent Non-Executive Directors”. The Board of the Company consists of two executive and one non-executive director. The non-executive director takes no part in the day-to-day management of the Company’s affairs, has no performance related pay, and provides no services to the Company save for those expected of his non-executive role.
